The last cocktail is by no means a recent invention but brought the theatrics of the open flame back to the modern cocktail bar. The Blue Blazer, featured in Jerry Thomas’ Bartenders Guide 1862 is a warming mixture of spirit, sugar and spices transferred between two silver-plated mugs creating the appearance of a continued stream of liquid fire.
