Botanical Beverages on Gardening Australia
As you may have seen on our social media channels, Botanical Beverages, my segment on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia premiered on Friday 21 May 2021. Earlier in the year, I was contacted via The Gourmantic Garden website regarding a potential story on growing a cocktail garden. On 22 February, I had the pleasure of welcoming the Gardening Australia TV crew along with show host, Costa Georgiadis to my edible and cocktail garden.
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the Gardening Australia team and I couldn’t be happier with the way the segment was presented. You can view the 6+ minutes video in full here.
The Whisky Show 2021
The Whisky Show by Alchemist Events took place on the weekend of World Whisky Day, May 13 & 14 at Sir Stamford at Circular Quay. The show was attended by more than 730 whisky lovers across the country with the opportunity to sample and buy over 110+ whiskies from 42 brands. Due to COVID restrictions, the physical event had a few changes to the usual format which we believe has made the experience even more enjoyable.
Having three dedicated rooms to whisky regions/countries (Australia, Scotland, World) made it easier to choose where to start the tasting. In addition, guests were required to be seated while sampling whiskies which enabled better interaction with brand ambassadors and distillers.

Dulcie’s King Cross New Cocktail List
Dulcie’s Kings Cross held the Third Assembly of the Kings Cross Quaffing Club to preview the new cocktail list launching on June 1st. The all-Australian spirit bar presented a standout list which includes “The Elephant at Ocean View”, a silky and sensual cocktail combining The Gospel Solera Rye with peanut butter syrup, house liquorice tincture, pepper berry bitters, a whole egg and saline; Snugs & Tugs, a refreshing and bright Collins style cocktail with Finders Distillery Gin, Brookie’s Shirl the Pearl, lemon juice and house made eucalyptus tonic. Keep an eye out for Best in Show, a delicious mix of Brix Distillers spiced rum, house pumpkin butter, lemon juice, aquafaba, topped with ginger ale and maple and wattleseed cream.
