Michter’s Distillery in the United States is renowned for its premium spirits with a production motto of “Cost Be Damned!”. The distillery air dries or kiln dries their custom barrels, toasts the barrels before charring and enter their spirits into barrels at lower proof.
Michter’s US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon (45.7% ABV) is a small batch production composed typically of no more than 24 barrels aged in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels in excess of eight years. A balance of vanilla and caramel notes complement the viscous mouthfeel along with stone fruit notes and a smoky depth with an oak finish that lingers on the palate.
