Drinking whisky in the height of summer may not be to everyone’s liking but the Kakubin Highball is a sessionable, light and refreshing alternative to beer and wine.
Kakubin (40% ABV) is a Japanese blended whisky by Suntory whisky. The brand dates back to 1937 and “Kakubin” means “square bottle” referring to the shape of the bottle it comes in. Most likely. you won’t be sipping Kakubin neat as this not the equivalent to the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Hibiki trio. It’s an affordable whisky that is best served highball style.
The Kakubin Highball has taken Japan by storm and with hot summers in Australia, this is very simple and refreshing drink to make at home when friends pop around or at BBQs at home.
