Whether it’s a refreshing island classic, an orange twist on the Espresso Martini or a coconut flavoured Mojito, here are three Rhum Clément Cocktails to get you started with agricole rhum.
Previously we’ve featured Rhum Clément from Martinique in the French Caribbean, known to only produce agricole rhum using pure fermented sugar cane juice.
Here are three Rhum Clément cocktails as shown in the photo above from left to right, each highlighting a different expression of the Rhum Clément family.
Rhum Clément Cocktails: Ti’ Punch
A refreshing island classic using Clément Premiere Canne Rhum
Ingredients
- 45 ml Clément Premiere Canne Rhum
- 1 bar spoon Sirop de Canne
- 1 lime wedge
Method
To build the drink in a glass, squeeze the lime wedge to extract as much juice and oils as possible. Add the Sirop de Canne and Clément Premiere Canne Rhum. Add crushed ice and swizzle with a bois lélé (swizzle stick) or a bar spoon.
Rhum Clément Cocktails: Jaffa Espresso Martini
A twist on the Espresso Martini highlighting the orange notes of Rhum Clément Créole Shrubb
Ingredients
- 15 ml Rhum Clément Créole Shrubb
- 15 ml Chairman’s Reserve White Rum
- 15 ml Brinley Gold Shipwreck Vanilla Rum
- 30 ml Espresso
- 15 ml Trader Vic’s Kona Coffee Liqueur
- 15 ml simple syrup
Glassware: coupette
Garnish: orange slice
Method
Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake and double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange slice.
Rhum Clément Cocktails: Cojito
A coconut twist on the Mojito with the fresh coconut notes in Rhum Clément Mahina Coco
Ingredients
- 45 ml Chairman’s Reserve White Rum
- 15 ml Rhum Clément Mahina Coco
- 15 ml fresh lime juice
- 15 ml simple syrup
- 6 mint leaves
Glassware: highball
Garnish: sprig of mint
Method
In a highball, muddle the mint leaves with lime juice and syrup. Add Chairman’s Reserve White Rum, Clément Mahina Coco, crushed ice and give it a gentle stir. Garnish with sprig of mint.
