Whisky cocktails are gaining popularity beyond the whisky sour and with the release of new no age statement single malts, it’s making the spirit more approachable to a new generation of imbibers.
Talisker Skye is one such single malt whisky. The latest addition to the Talisker range from the Isle of Skye in Scotland has a soft sweet style with peaty notes at the end. With its subtle smoke, green apple and ripe pears, it lends itself well to cocktails.
The Talisker Blood Skye cocktail is a twist on the classic Blood and Sand substituting Cherry Heering Liqueur for Aperol. The cocktail is the creation of Sean Baxter, National Brand Ambassador for Diageo Classic Malts and was served at the official launch of Talisker Skye on board the Talisker racing yacht. The cocktail embodies the spirit of Skye, fruity notes, subtle peat and maritime notes.
