Australian Cocktail Month
Mark your diaries. Australian Cocktail Month is coming in May 2021. The initiative by industry figure Penny Sippe in partnership with leading local and international spirits, liqueurs, and mixers will champion the Australian cocktail industry and support bars and bartenders as they welcome guests back into their venues following Covid-19 closures and restrictions.
A ticket to Australian Cocktail Month will provide the key to unlocking unique bar experiences, being hosted by industry leading professionals and offering cocktails at great prices. Digital initiatives will add an innovative dimension allowing consumers outside the key cities to participate in Australian Cocktail Month and engage with an online audience.
Vermouth Day
Another one for the diary. March 21 has been declared Vermouth Day. Created by Giancarlo Mancino, Founder of Mancino Vermouth, the drink holiday will make its debut in 2021, celebrating the history and the power of the elegant aromatised and fortified wine. “The date, which corresponds with the period of the beginning of the spring season, is no coincidence. To celebrate this product with innate grace, we need a period of the year where everything is flourishing,” says Mancino.
Hernö Gin Hotel
Swedish gin brand Hernö Gin planning to build a gin hotel in Härnösand and open a new cocktail bar in Stockholm, with the aim of turning the High Coast of Sweden into an international destination for gin lovers. The Hernö Gin Hotel will be located by the sea, close to the city of Härnösand and a 15-minute drive from the Hernö Gin distillery. (source)
