The 2016 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards (ADSA) were announced earlier tonight at a presentation held at The Craft & Co in Collingwood, Victoria with Western Australia’s Limeburners Distillery awarded Australian Distiller of the Year, as well as Champion Whisky for the second year running and Champion Small Batch Spirit.
The ADSA are conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the organisation responsible for the Australian International Beer Awards and the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards. For 2016, the awards attracted 154 entries from 42 distillers which represent more than 80% of Australian distillers. The awards were judged by a panel of industry experts, led by Head Judge Jason Crawley of The Drink Cabinet over two days.
