Simone Caporale in Sydney for Italicus
Renowned bartender Simone Caporale (World’s Best Bartender, ex Artesian Bar) visited Sydney last week in association with Italicus. He presented a masterclass at Charlie Parker’s educating bartenders about the liqueur and demonstrating his bartending techniques. Simone followed up with a bar takeover at Maybe Sammy showcasing Italicus cocktails such as the Nostrano Spritz (pictured) with a vapour bubble. Read our interview with Simone Caporale here.
Top 100 Most Influential List
Australian Bartender Magazine has revealed the Top 100 Most Influential List for 2019. The bi-annual list, which I have had the honour of being part of since 2013 is a who’s who of the movers and shakers who have influenced the bar industry during the last two years. See the full list here.
Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Revival
Wild Turkey has released Master’s Keep Revival, created by Master Distiller Eddie Russell as an ode to a classic Wild Turkey bourbon recipe released decades ago by Eddie’s father, Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. Wild Turkey Bourbon is aged for 12-15 years then finished in 20-year-old Oloroso Sherry casks. Bottled at 50.5% ABV, the expression has aromas of oak, raisins, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it delivers a nutty note with soft spice, tropical fruit, raisins and honey. Master’s Keep Revival retails at $200 AUD. You can view images from the launch event here.
