7 Years of Cocktails & Bars
August 3rd, 2022 marked 7 years of Cocktails & Bars. From the very beginning, our aim was to create a website that celebrates cocktail and bar culture, fine spirits and champions the cocktail at home movement.
Although it’s been 7 years for the website, we’ve been part of this industry for over 13 years when we launched Gourmantic in 2009. Among many achievements and fond memories, we’re very proud and fortunate to have been there for the rise of the small bar scene in Sydney as well as the nascent Australian craft distilling industry and we continue to be part of this hospitality industry which is so dear to our hearts.
The last couple of years have not been without challenges with lockdowns, the pandemic and previously with the lockout laws in Sydney. We’re looking ahead with a positive mindset that our beloved industry will rise again to greater heights.
ARGO x Grain Bar Takeover
ARGO bar in Hong Kong which made an impressive debut at number 3 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list is coming to Grain Bar Sydney. For one night only, Lorenzo Antinori of ARGO Bar and Beverage Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific will host a masterclass at Grain Bar on Thursday, 18 August 2022 from 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm followed by cocktails from the highly awarded bar.
The 3 Winos Trade Event
After a 3 year hiatus, The 3 Winos and a Providore Trade Tasting took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. Presented by Combined Wines and Foods, Winestock, World Wine Estates and Mayer Imports. There were fewer spirits and fortified wines on taste compared to previous years with the highlights being Gonzalez Byass Vermouth La Copa Blanco & Rojo, Caffo Vecchio Amaro del Capo.
