Jameson Caskmates Young Henrys Edition is a limited release collaboration between Jameson Irish Whiskey and Young Henrys.
Inspired by the original Jameson Caskmates colla-beer-ation between Midleton Distillery and Cork’s Franciscan Well Brewery, this new whiskey with a local twist has also been aged in beer-seasoned barrels.
Following Young Henrys’ release of Craic & Barrel, an Irish Red Ale aged in Jameson Irish Whiskey casks last October, ten freshly soaked red ale barrels were emptied and sent back on the 17,000km journey from Newtown, Sydney to
Midleton, Co. Cork where they were re-acquainted with smooth mature Irish whiskey.
The Young Henrys team followed their barrels back to Ireland in June and spent time with 5th generation Master Cooper Ger Buckley and the Head of Whiskey Science David Quinn who pioneered this idea of exchanging barrels which resulted in Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition.
The Jameson Caskmates Young Henrys Edition is described as having new notes of caramel, malt and subtle hops all supported by a mild pot still spiciness. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or in the perfect boilermaker with a Young Henrys Newtowner.
