Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey is one of the few single grain bottlings made around the globe. And as St Patrick’s Day celebrations get into the swing around the world, what better way to join in the festivities than with an Irish whiskey.
With the family distilling heritage dating back to 1782 in Dublin, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery has recently opened the first new distillery in the city in over 125 years.
Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey is made using predominately maize/corn through column distillation which produces a clean, smooth and sweet Irish whiskey. The spirit is matured exclusively in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels, is non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV. It has won the “World’s Best Grain” at the World Whiskies Awards in 2014.
The whiskey has a rich amber hue in the glass. It has sweetness on the nose along with and some spice notes that carry through to the palate with lush red berries. The dry finish does not linger long and has hints of tannin at the end.
