Top 50 Cocktail Bars
The Top 50 Cocktail Bars list was released on July 8. According to their website, they have polled hundreds of bartenders, managers and drinks experts from across the UK to curate a special list, which has something for every type of drinker. All awards are entered into and judged by a small panel of industry experts who visit the bars, interview the team and choose the winners who they believe deserve to be recognised. Voters were broken down into six geographical regions. Each voter was allocated four votes, including for one cocktail bar in their region and three others from anywhere else in the UK. Top 500 Bars
Across in France, Top 500 Bars by Le Cocktail Connoisseur has revealed the ranking of the top influential bars in the world from 500 to 300 with the rest to come. Described as “a disruptive global ranking based on big data”, they have aggregated thousands of data about cocktail bars on the internet, from hundreds of sources, in over 15 languages. Not only did they seek the opinion of experts, journalists and influencers, but also platforms and search engines that aggregate reviews from everyone to complete the set. The data was processed by an algorithm to produce a weighted ranking of 500 bars. You can view the Top 500 Bars list here.

Neutral Bay Pop-Up Whisky Bar
A pop up whisky bar is coming to Neutral Bay, a collaboration between Alchemist Events and The Cheese & Wine Co on Wednesdays. Starting on Wednesday 31 July, and running each Wednesday for two months, the bar will be serving a range of unique and hard-to-find whiskies, plus some old favourites. Classics and rarities include GlenAllachie-Glenlivet 20yo (Cadenheads), Big Peat Russian Edition, Glenlossie 10yo Flora & Fauna, Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine and Hibiki Harmony.

New Bar Openings & Bar News
- Gorgeous George Bar, a new bar by Flynn McLennan of The Long Goodbye has opened at the former site of Pocket Bar and Mister Pocket in Darlinghurst.
- The Cumberland in Manly, a new underground speakeasy bar with a focus on whisky is set to open in August. The bar will be accessed through a 1920s fridge door leading into the basement bar.
