Last week, the cocktail world was saddened by the sudden loss of bartending legend Sasha Petraske. He was the founder of the famous bars Milk & Honey in New York City and London.
Petraske played a key role in role in the modern cocktail revival and inspired many bartenders, such as Australia’s Sam Ross, creator of the Penicillin cocktail and who now operates Attaboy at the location of the original Milk & Honey.
The team at Milk & Honey is planning a tribute to Sasha Petraske on Monday, August 31 from 9 pm to 10 pm. They will be celebrating his memory with an hour of mixing and toasting one of his favourite cocktails, the Daiquiri. As part of the worldwide tribute, the team is inviting people around the globe on August 31st at 9:00 pm (in their respective timezone) to join them by toasting with a Daiquiri to his memory. 9 pm was chosen as it was the hour that Milk & Honey opened its doors every evening.
Petraske passed away on Friday 21 August 2015. He was 42.
