Wild Turkey has launched Wild Turkey Spiced Bourbon, a new expression which claims to be the first of its kind hailing from the “Island of Kentucky”.
This Spiced Bourbon from Wild Turkey adds a host of spices and deep flavours to the mix. Easy to enjoy on its own, this spiced bourbon can also be used as a tasty base for whiskey cocktails.
Wild Turkey Spiced Bourbon bourbon is meant to appeal to spiced rum drinkers and meant be sipped neat over ice or used in mixers such as cola or dry ginger ale.
On its own, the 43% ABV spirit has a nose of vanilla, caramel, subtle spice and oak which develop on the palate with a marked sweetness punctuated with cinnamon, vanilla, clove and a hint of cardamom. When mixed with cola, the vanilla and spice notes are enhanced which make it more suitable to drink with a mixer. In short, this spiced expression is not a sipping whiskey.
Spiced spirits are often seen in the domain of rums, and the use of spice in bourbon is an interesting move for the category. If you’re a fan of Wild Turkey bourbon, and want something a little off centre, give the spirit a go. After all, it is a flavoured expression and variety can be the spice of life.
