Apéro Time is a cocktail that combines Floc de Gascogne with dry vermouth and orange liqueur in a sweeter style of aperitif.
Apéro, is short for apéritif and refers to an hour or so before the evening meal where you can partake in a drink and some snacks. It has nothing to do with the orange flavoured Italian bitter popular in a spritz.
Floc de Gascogne is a by-product of Armagnac, a mistelle made by adding Armagnac to fresh grape juice. The speciality of the Armagnac region in France is available in white and red varietals. The aperitif is usually consumed neat, chilled or on ice but can also be mixed in cocktails such as our very own Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité Cocktail.
Light bodied and fruity, Floc de Gascogne can also be a substitute for Lillet Blanc. In this cocktail, it’s mixed with dry vermouth, Cointreau while Angostura bitters balances the sweet notes.
