Compagnie des Indes refers to the old West Indies Companies and pays homage to the Dutch, British, Portuguese and French empires during the 17th and 18th century who travelled afar to bring rare commodities to their homelands.
Compagnie des Indes Rum is an independent bottler of rums selected to showcase the terroir of each of the rum’s origin, be it in their blends or their highly regarded Single Casks.
The range of rums they bottle remain as authentic as possible with no flavouring or glycerin added and only a small amount of sugar in the form of organic cane syrup. No E150A caramel colouring is added with the exception of the “Caraibes” blend.
Compagnie des Indes Blend Jamaica 5 Year Old “Navy Strength” is a blend of rums from four distilleries in Jamaica. The rum has 10G/L of sugar, with no caramel colouring and no sugar added. This blend of pot still rums is bottled at 57% as a tribute to the Royal British Navy when only spirits with a minimum level of 57% were allowed to board their ships. The rum has won a Gold Medal in the Paris Rhum Fest in the 3 to 6 year old Molasses Rum Category and Silver Medal in the Rum for Mixology Category.
