The ‘Garden Collins Summer Series’, a series dedicated to the Tom Collins cocktail continues with Fennel and Orange Gin Collins using fennel from the garden.
The combination of the botanicals in gin and the pairing of orange and fennel is like drinking sunshine from a glass.
Fennel and Orange Gin Collins Recipe
Ingredients
- 50ml gin
- 25ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 15ml fennel syrup (click for recipe)
- 1 orange wedge
- soda water to top
Glassware: Collins glass
Garnish: orange wheel, fennel frond
Method
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the orange wedge with fennel syrup. Add gin, lemon juice, ice cubes and shake hard until well chilled. Line the inside of a Collins glass with an orange wheel and add ice cubes. Strain into the glass and garnish with a fennel frond.
