Founded in 1763, The House of Hine is one of the oldest Cognac companies still in existence.
For over 250 years, Hine Cognacs have been highly regarded for their quality and elegance, from the entry level H by Hine VSOP Cognac to the prestige cuvée Talent.
The House of Hine owns and sources their grapes from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions, considered the premier growth region in Cognac. Their spirit is the only Cognac with a Royal Warrant as well as the only Cognac served in the Royal Household.
Known for its signature single vintages which are matured in the United Kingdom, The House of Hine also produces H by Hine, a Cognac specifically created for cocktails.
Hine is renowned for its finesse and floral quality which form a good basis for mixing in cocktails. After the popularity of Hine VSOP with bartenders and the way it worked in mixed drinks, Hine’s Master Blender, Eric Forget sought to create an expression that ensures the wood notes don’t dominate in cocktails.
After working closely with drinks experts in France and the UK, H by Hine was crafted to accentuate the floral and fruity notes of Hine’s DNA while keeping the blend young and restricting the time it spends in contact with the wood.
H by Hine is well suited for classic Cognac cocktails such as the Sidecar, Champagne Cocktail and Fish House Punch which can be re-imagined to deliver a softer, yet still complex and with a more pronounced richness in flavour. The expression invites creativity and a fresh approach to using Cognac in cocktails. As Eric Forget suggests, “I stir H with pomelo syrup and top it up with equal measures of lemonade and sparkling water”.
