Following from the Right Hand Cocktail, here’s the Left Hand Cocktail recipe created by Sam Ross at New York’s Milk & Honey in 2006.
Much like its counterpart, the Right Hand Cocktail, the Left Hand Cocktail can be described as a cross between a Negroni and the Manhattan while bearing similarities to the Boulevardier.
The stirred drink was created by Sam Ross in 2006 who was working at New York City’s Milk & Honey at the time. The cocktail combines bourbon with equal parts sweet vermouth and Campari with a hint of chocolate from the bitters. A brandied cherry is used as garnish.
In case you’re wondering the difference between the two drinks, here’s a brief summary. Both drinks use equal parts Campari and sweet vermouth with a couple of dashes of chocolate bitters. The Right Hand is makes use of aged rum and is garnished with an orange twist while the Left Hand has bourbon as a base and is garnished with a brandied cherry. Both are delicious and easy to mix.
