Chachi’s in Woolloomooloo brings an 80s themed dive bar and immersive experience to Sydney.
Sydney has enjoyed its fair share of themed bars over the years and the latest to join the trend is Chachi’s, an 80s themed dive bar in Woolloomooloo.
Named after Scott Baio’s character in Happy Days, Chachi’s is located just a few steps away from the iconic Coca Cola sign at Kings Cross, and occupies the former site of The Old Growler. Descend the staircase and get ready to be transported back to the future.
A world of vibrant neon colours, classic arcade games and 80s insignia awaits with Rubik’s cubes, Polaroid cameras and a Grace Jones mural. The tables are painted in vivid colours providing an instagrammable background to the retro themed food and drink offering such as the Kevin with Bacon Burger.
The cocktail menu continues the retro and playful theme with classics turned colourful and vibrant. There’s the fluoro blue Socom Sour, the bold orange Hemingway Daiquiri, Tommy’s Margarita and other popular classics such as the Espresso Martini, Manhattan and Piña Colada.
Chachi’s promises an immersive experience and while it may sound gimmicky to some, there’s no harm in escaping into the nostalgic world of leg warmers and shoulders pads with a cocktail in hand.
