Inspired by the age of exploration, Jackalberry is a cocktail bar that brings the spirit of travel adventure to the heart of Sydney.
Located in a heritage building on Sussex Street Sydney, Jackalberry offers a beautiful escape into world flavours with the theme of travel and exploration. Named after the native African tree, the interior has been designed to transport guests to a botanical setting with an abundance of greenery, rattan and stone, rich velvet booth seating, dramatic wallpaper and travel nik naks.
With a solid focus on cocktails, the bar is headed by Stuart Thompson previously at Untied, Uncle Mings Bar and The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room. The cocktail menu carries the exploration theme with a list that charts an explorer’s journey from Italy to Cancun, onto the Amazonian jungle, Tanzania and beyond.
The cocktails are designed to be representative of flavour destinations. The Arashiyama (Kyoto Japan) evokes fresh bamboo forests with Sake, Roku Gin and Kiwi fruit cucumber while The Livingstone Tiki cocktail offers a taste of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with Emperor Heritage Mauritian Rum, Dobson Distillery Oak Aged Saffron Gin, Rooibos Tisane, Lemon Oleo Saccharum and Rosemary honey.
The bar food menu continues the exploration theme with a global selection of shareable dishes from popular cuisines spanning Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Jackalberry brings a transportative experience and a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The venue is open Mondays to Saturdays.
