In case you thought gin’s popularity has reached its peak, Tonic Lane, a new gin-focussed bar has opened in Sydney’s Neutral Bay.
Tonic Lane comes under the guise of a café by day and a ginoteca by night serving a gin and tonic menu a la carte and a succinct cocktail list.
What sets Tonic Lane apart is their focus on Australian gins and tonics. The drinks menu features an all-Australian selection of 37 gins from all around the country including Garden Grown Gin from NSW, Hobart no 4 Gin and Forty Spotted Gin from Tasmania, 78o Small Batch Gin from SA and the West Winds Broadside from WA.
You’ll find eight gin-based cocktails with takes on classics such as the Bloody Tom Collins with Ironbark Wattleseed Gin, blood orange and organic tonic water, the Salty Dog with Monsoon Gin from Bass & Flinders with ginger, grapefruit and cinnamon, the ubiquitous Negroni made with Melbourne Gin Company and the Barboy Special which is the special cocktail listed on the board.
Tonic Lane is located along Young Lane near the main dining hub. Pop in for an Australian G&T or a gin cocktail, the vibe at night will transport you to a European small bar.
